K. BRIAN ADKINS

Brian’s practice revolves around insurance claims, wills and estates, property matters, corporate law, and the coal mining and gas industries. He is a graduate of Marshall University with a B.A. in psychology and earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2004.

Brian is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. While in law school, he was a student-attorney in the WVU College of Law Clinical Law Program, a program for indigent individuals in need of legal assistance. Prior to joining Shaffer & Shaffer PLLC, Brian served as law clerk to the Honorable Eric H. O’Briant, Judge of the 7th judicial circuit of West Virginia. He practices in our Madison office.

Born in Logan, WV, Brian currently lives in South Charleston, WV with his wife, Courtney, and their three children.
